Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-08-08
1. Who we are and what this is
Prayer is an online service that lets people share prayer intentions, pray for one another, join small prayer communities, request one-on-one intercessory prayer and support the project financially. These Terms form the agreement between you and the operator of the service. By creating an account or using the service you accept them.
2. Eligibility — adults only
The service is intended exclusively for people aged 18 or older. You must confirm your age when you create an account, and we record the moment you did so. We do not knowingly create accounts for minors; if we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18 we close it and delete its content.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret and for everything done through your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to it. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to harm other people.
4. Content you share
You keep the rights to the intentions and other content you post. You grant us a limited licence to store it and to display it to the people you chose to share it with — the public pool, or the specific group. You are responsible for what you write, including for not publishing another person's private information without their consent.
Content is reviewed automatically before it becomes visible. If the review is inconclusive or unavailable, the content waits in a queue rather than being published — we would rather delay a prayer than publish something harmful.
5. Prohibited use
Do not use the service to harass, threaten, defame or impersonate anyone; to publish sexual, violent or hateful material; to advertise; to collect other users' data; to circumvent access controls; or to disrupt the service by automated means.
6. One-on-one intercession
A one-on-one request is a request for prayer and conversation with a volunteer intercessor. It is not counselling, therapy, medical, legal or emergency assistance. If you are in danger or in a crisis, contact your local emergency services.
7. Donations and subscriptions
Donations support the project and are not purchases of goods or services. Optional subscriptions (for example an ad-free experience) renew until cancelled and can be cancelled at any time, with effect from the end of the current billing period. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never store your card details.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation. We may change or discontinue features. If we change these Terms materially we will publish the new version with a new version identifier and ask you to accept it.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Your data: export and deletion
You can download a copy of your data at any time from your profile. The file contains your account details, your preferences, the intentions you shared, the prayers you offered, your community memberships and your one-on-one requests. Contact details attached to a one-on-one request are not part of that file — they are held separately and are visible only to the operator.
You can also delete your account from your profile. Deletion takes effect immediately: your profile stops being reachable, your intentions are withdrawn from public view and from your communities, your memberships are closed and notifications stop. The remaining personal data is kept for 30 days and then permanently anonymised. During that period the account cannot be used to sign in. Records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (for example donation receipts) are retained for as long as the law requires, without your profile attached to them.
12. Contact
Questions about these Terms: the contact address published on the site. The English version of this document prevails over any translation.
